OXYGEN SENSOR
Pinnacle's oxygen sensor is a 180 um disc electrode with an integrated reference. It operates under a -0.6V bias. The sensor is linear across the physiological range. The oxygen sensor is purchased by cannula type. A rat locking cannula is used when only inserting one sensor. We reccomend the rat friction fit cannula when using 2 sensors simultaneously.
In vitro O2 sensor calibration. Each step response is an addition of an O2 saturated PBS solution equating to an O2 concentration of 12.5 µM. The original PBS testing solution was completely purged of O2 by bubbling argon throughout the solution for 20 minutes before starting the calibration. Sensor calibration was performed at 37º C in 100 mM PBS buffer with an applied bias of -0.6 V. Note that the y-axis has been inverted for clarity.
